Daytona Bike Week 2012: Coming Attractions

Beauty and the Beast: The Mental Mantis

In a private garage near Savannah, GA two almost normal guys hand-built one of the most unusual (yet ridable) bikes I've ever seen. The bike would be plenty exotic even if the front fork was not able to raise up like a draw bridge. It's won several trophies at bike shows in Daytona, Leesburg, and Panama City and it always draws a crowd. You can find out more about this beast of a bike at their Facebook page. It is for sale but, as they say, "if you have to ask ..."

Leesburg: Bikefest

 A (usually) quiet little town in central Florida hosts one of the largest 3-day events in the US. Attracting over 300,000 bikers, Bikefest turns downtown Leesburg into a giant festival where everything is within walking distance.

We're in Leesburg once again preparing for an even bigger show. Stay tuned.

Daytona Bike Week 2011

We've just added galleries for the White Eagle / Thunder Roads Bikini Contest and the Ratshole Bike Show.

We've also updated the Staff Gallery and Babes on Bikes.

Charlotte, NC: Easyriders Show

Of course, we prefer shooting bikes outdoors but, in January, you have to adapt. If you can't go out and play because the roads are icy, at least you can spend a day dreaming about some shiny new toys.

Pinellas Park: Bike Builders Invitational

We stopped by the Quaker Steak and Lube in Pinellas Park, Florida recently. There was a Bike Builders Invitational Show which (unfortunately for us photographers) was held in an unlit tent.

Of course, there was also the Miss Full Throttle bikini contest, Sunday's Drive-In Bike Show, and the best of what we call the Parking Lot tour.

Key West: Fantasy Fest

 Every October exhibitionists, voyeurs, and costume lovers migrate south for a taste of the Carribean - and a slighty naughty celebration.

Fantasy Fest is Florida's answer to Mardi Gras and Carnaval; a 10-day Halloween party where sexy costumes and painted bodies fill the streets.
 
 

Fort Lauderdale: International Boat Show

 No ladies in this gallery, just gorgeous boats. And if you think the girls on this site are unobtanium, wait til you see these boats. At least we can look, right ?

 

Daytona Beach: Biketoberfest

 This end-of-bikini-season 4-day event gives bikers from around the country one more chance to take over the streets of Daytona Beach. With music, beer, food, and exhibits everywhere you turn, Daytona knows how to make bikers happy.



 

Panama City Beach: Thunder Beach

For bikers in Florida, springtime is playtime. The 3rd major event of the season, Thunder Beach offers all the usual bike week attractions - plus the unique gulfcoast atmosphere.
